The original wooden Nardi wheel in my Lancia was crumbling and dangerous, even when pushing the car, so I decided to use a local hidden talent to do something about it. If ever you need automotive woodwork, I highly recommend Bruce Crawford at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , his work is nothing less than art. While my car is far from the road, hanging this on my bedroom wall will provide motivation until it is.

Pictures of other Flavias showed wheel stain colors that were all over the map from light to dark, so we decided to match the color to the lovely shift knob, a piece that he was absolutely smitten by. He’s restored countless Nardis and other European wheels and wood parts, and never seen a shift knob like it. No picture of a Flavia that I could find had one like it either.
He also polished the spokes and center button, both of which were in a pretty poor state. Beautiful stuff, and I couldn’t be happier. So while I don’t have much time or money to do anything with the car myself for a while (kids will do that), this is a small step in the right direction.

So completing your journey on foot is common?
And a photo of the car please!

It may be later, but this car has’t run since about 1991, when I helped my grandpa push it into his shed. I bought it from the estate after he passed, and have been making slow inroads towards returning it to the road. Parts a bit hard to find when you don’t speak Italian. I need cylinder heads, an engine gasket set, and some brake bits at the very least.
Here it is the day I pulled it out of its long-term storage.

beautiful.
I myself need someone to re-dye my wheel and repaint the spokes, but I live on the other side of the country. Also I have no money.

He’s done work for international clients, shipping is no problem, I’m sure. This required all new wood and I saved for this, but it was less than I expected. I’d imagine a re-stain would be pretty reasonable. Worth keeping him in mind, at least.

Well, its foam, not wood. Have you seen some of the current nardi wheels?
It seems strange more people aren’t putting these in more cars. seems like everything is momo anymore.

When it’s done, you can drive me around the block anytime. If it breaks down, I’ll pay to fix it.

looks like it belongs in there. I would consider one if the T/A didnt already come with a steering wheel that looks aftermarket
Pictured: not my car.

Art would approve of this art. I’m sure.
